Finally, a clock that matches my internal project management style. I’ve been '85 seconds' away from putting up those shelves since early 2023. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish when the deadline is permanently 'any minute now’.

So, it's general doomsday, not just nuclear war, and in many ways, the hammer is a few microns from the bell.

The issue with this visualization is that it's not clear what the minutes are supposed to represent. Does 10 seconds to midnight imply 95% odds of nuclear annihilation within the next year?

The bulletin needs to perform a retrospective analysis to determine how good their predictions were in the past. As things stand it's amusing to see how their increments need to get smaller and smaller to avoid striking midnight.

Don't get hung up on the numbers or scale. The value of the doomsday clock is in the direction it's moving.
